Paul Mpando – Carpentry

Paul Mpando is another candidate who chose to build doors. We decided to provide Paul with enough capital to create 2 doors, in order to provide us with evidence that this business was feasible. After completing two orders in a relatively short period of time, we agreed to provide Paul with the loan he initially asked for.

However similar to another candidate, Runcan Bwanali it was soon evident that this business would not provide a reasonable income and the chances of repaying the loan were slim.

This resulted in Paul switching from doors to beds and storage units. Since the transition Paul has made both loan repayments and is providing for his family through the income generated through his business.
